  8.  AB    OBJECTIVE: To analyze brazilian legislation and relevant case-law
  9.        regarding people living with HIV/AIDS. METHODS: Analysis has included:
  10.        (1) the right of the workers with HIV/AIDS; (2) the obligation of
  11.        private health companies to pay for the expenses of the AIDS treatment;
  12.        (3) the obligation of the public hospital to offer drugs, treatment and
  13.        beds; (4) social assistance for the needy who are not able to work; (5)
  14.        compensatory indemnity for the people contaminated via blood
  15.        transfusion; (6) the right to attend school, nursery and other public
  16.        sites. Case studies describing these situations and propose measures
  17.        willl be guaranteeing the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS.
  18.        RESULTS: The study results in the creation of the first brazilian
  19.        publication on AIDS and the law. The repercussion of the book in the
  20.        newspapers and periodicals magazines was broad, instigating a series of
  21.        discussions on TV programs about the rights of people living with
  22.        HIV/AIDS. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: The publication orient other
  23.        professional involved in the fight against AIDS in order to increase
  24.        information about the rights of people with HIV/AIDS.
